April 6, 2012, Atlanta, Ga. – On Saturday, April 28, 2025 Atlanta’s top stars, celebrities, corporate VIPS and more will be gathering at the grand St. Regis Hotel Atlanta for the Caring For Congo Gala Experience 2012 hosted by NBA Superstar & Global Ambassador Dikembe Mutombo. This spectacular Gala Experience will boast traditional cultures, delicious four course culinary display, fashion spectacles, high end LIVE auction and The Exclusive VIP Gifting Vault that will display upscale gift offerings! This night of celebration will raise awareness and funds for The Dikembe Mutombo Foundation to benefit The Biamba Marie Mutumbo Hospital – a $29 million state-of-the-art facility, built in 2007, in Mutombo’s homeland of The Democratic of the Congo in honor of his beloved mother. The hospital has served hundreds of thousands of residents. Voted USA Today’s “Most Caring Athlete”, Mutombo says, “The hospital was built to help the people of my hometown live healthy and productive lives.” Mutombo has invited all of his corporate VIPs, celebrity friends and NBA counterparts for a night filled with awareness, dancing, music, special presentations, LIVE entertainment and more!
“It is important for me to share a night of this kind with the many people that have supported me on this tireless journey,” said Mutombo. “It is equally important for me to share this time with others to bring awareness to the challenges in the Congo and across the entire African continent. My beautiful wife, Rose & I want to also make everyone aware of what is still needed, what has been done and what’s to come.”
This great evening of giving will be Emceed by CNN Correspondent Ali Velshi and will also provide LIVE Entertainment by the immensely popular jazz band, Dirty Jazz featuring A. London Arrington plus Featured Entertainment by one of Broadway’s Original Dreamgirls, Tony Award winning Actress/Singer Jennifer Holliday – the Caring For Congo Gala Experience is gearing up to be the ultimate fundraising event Atlanta has ever seen!
